Was happy to find this at a recent sale. I'm thinking it's a watch fob. Cool with the 2 sided Egyptian revival theme. Base metal.

Watch fob, right? Is something missing on the base?

A Google Images search brings up a number of those fobs . Here's one complete with hanging medal.

Turns out there are quite a few on Ebay. Mine seems to have a better patina in a way, but not sure if that indicates older or not.

They'd be post-1922 when King Tutankhamen's tomb was discovered.

I was weeding our old rural cemetery 40 years ago and came across one of these-quite touching. A fellow worker unearthed some embossed milk bottles (w/ 3 number phone nos)- burial grounds are quite extraordinary.
That cemetery had some of the most beautiful and fragrant daffodils (narcissus) we've ever seen and smelled ! They grew on top of the Civil War/GAR monument.

I'm in love with this vase. It seems to be sun purpled. Perhaps it was placed on someone's grave out in the sun.

Very different style too. No glass and/or enamel means no Neiger.

How interesting. E.E. Cummings is buried there.
