17" faience figurines whose mark is this: impressed LB

I think they are faience. Auction manager says they are Limbach I dont see it in the database I use so I dont know..

 

There's a Limbach LB mark mentioned in the Handbook of Marks on Pottery & Porcelain, but it doesn't look like yours...

 

If it's Limbach, it would be porcelain. I don't know if it is Limbach.

These look like porcelain to me?

are we sure on the porcelain? on the underside of the one on the left you can see a chip and it looks like red clay underneath. No?

Could possibly be a paint drip rather than a chip

 

the base painted lilac around the rim..... so I'm seeing chip too.

 

Fact: definitely NOT Limbach. Personal opinion: the paint job looks more like a children's chalk job; colours are far over the top and look "artificial". Typical for French items, imo.
