Featured Found in a tin of sewing items

Hi;

Found these in a tin of sewing items. 1.5" in diameter. Jadeite? What would they be used for? Set weighs 3.1 oz.

Yes, they are jadeite jade and very nice. They look like those jade ring pulls on Chinese sewing baskets, and could have had a similar use.

 

These a lot of these to be found on the internet, on etsy.com, for instance, which makes me wonder...

There is a lot of jade in Asia. Jadeite is found in Myanmar and sold in huge quantities to Chinese. This has been going on ever since the 18th century, so there are numerous jadeite artifacts etc.
These are too small to be bangles, but that is another type of item you see a lot of, and mostly genuine jadeite.

 

The quantities on etsy.com, which are sold in multiples, make me think they are newer rather than older and serve some decorative purpose I'm unfamiliar with.

Thank you. I googled Chinese sewing basket rings and found some on ebay, pink and green. They are on the center of the basket lid.

 

Jadeite? Because in my experience, they're typically Peking glass.
