Thrift store find this morning. I wasn't going to buy it till I read the note and saw the photograph on the back. Opa Is German for Grandfather right?
I haven't been able to find the artist but maybe when i take it out of the frame there might be more clues.
In any case it was only $5.00 so at least the oak frame is worth that.

Not me, I might thank them...
Well looks like it was trimmed before framing,
But i do know it's Dutch and not German.

So we're looking for a Dutch designer of furniture with the initials WK who was working post WW2, right?

    Or American of Dutch descent?

And who died sometime before Christmas 2006.

And likely died in 2006 as she says "after the memorial service" and not "after he died" which implies the recent past.

Well he/she might not be the designer. Maybe architect for the designer. It would be awesome to find out if these became actual product.

I think more likely draftsman than architect, if it isn't the designer.

Maybe @verybrad might recognize the pieces or the initials.

It is also Dutch. I know, I had two opas. And two omas as well.

Opa WK is not in a list of Dutch furniture designers, which is no doubt incomplete:

Sorry, no knowledge of Dutch designers. Styling is not such that this is high-end design from the time period so doubt you will find anything.

Thank you very much Brad for your help.
I consider this as more of an original, one of a kind piece of art, And will continue to research as I think the artist should be recognized. (And it's a good selling point) lol
