Nice little silver and glass gem bracelet. Any ideas on the makers stamp please or do you think it’s just the clasp makers mark?
Slightly odd one side is marked 800 and the other 925?
Stamped with a G over the 800 and looks like a head?
    Thankyou :)

The 800 mark is Polish, from 1986 onward. City mark Gdansk.

It's possible that it was re-assayed after export & found to be sterling. I don't know what's typical of Poland, but sometimes marks are more a guarantee of minimum fineness, not exact fineness.

I want to know why there is so much verdigris on a silver piece of any kind.

While sadly this is not my bracelet, I cannot wear silver at all, because my skin causes them to verdigris! So I think just being worn causes it.

Verdigris will be due to the other metals it is alloyed with, probably more copper alloy in this.

Fortunately 99% of that is poor artificial lighting. Just looked closely with a loupe. It’s dirty but not that green!

That’s really interesting Bronwen and makes sense as the clasp ends look like they are a match.

I have a brooch that has both an Egyptian 800 mark as well as the word sterling in one or two places.

Many of these bracelets are made in Asia, and are likely to be sterling. I suspect the Polish half of the clasp could be a repair done in Poland, using a Polish component.

I agree, many assay marks allow for tolerances, but never this big. Polish marks have a tolerance of .005 - .010.
