    This is cedar, approx 16.5" / 42cm tip-to-tip, signed with what looks like a K A, and dated 1/31/82.

    It's a little asymmetrical, so maybe a less-experienced carver (?)

Any ideas about origin and / or initials?

    Thanks in advance!

It's supposed to look like the a carved stone oil lamp and possibly like a dog, so it's supposed to be asymmetric. Ironwood maybe?

It's definitely mature / old growth cedar.

I think it may be supposed to look like a wolf, but also looks a bit like a bear.

Bear would fit; the muzzle looks correct.

A Makah model canoe is a miniature, hand-carved wooden replica of the traditional Pacific Northwest coastal dugout canoes. Historically crafted from single cedar or alder logs by Indigenous carvers, these models reflect the deep maritime, whaling, and cultural traditions of the Makah Tribe of Washington State.

    It's simple and elegant .
I don't recognize the artist though......:(

A beauty Komo ! By the way (if I may get NOSY)- what's the 'winged lion' sculptural base on top of your speaker cabinet about ? It looks very cool.
PS- If it has something to do with the Ark of the Covenant- mum's the word !
