Bought this piece at auction to add to my personal collection.
I'm a sucker for horses, regardless still an awesome piece..

I can't tell what it's stuffed with, there are no popped seams, but whatever it is is not rough/lumpy.

It looked to have a bridle and reigns at some point, but those am to have been broken off.

Can anyone tell me what time period and what type of child would have owned it/who would have made it? collage_20160322085153635.jpg collage_20160322085231142.jpg collage_20160322085001307.jpg collage_20160322085304035.jpg 20160322_084800.jpg

Would not call this folk art. Looks to be manufactured to me. Does seem to have some age to it. Maybe early to mid 20th century. I know that is a long time frame but there is not a lot to go on here. Size? Cant tell what it is stuffed with from a picture but if hard and stiff, it could be stuffed with sawdust. If pliable and soft, it could be a lot of different things.

I was hoping for a full sized horse.

I wish I had a full sized horse!

A child can easily grip the back of it to trot it around..
    Maybe 6" long and tall

    And are you sure manufactured?
A few parts of the body seemed a little disproportionate, but then again I dont know much about earlier toys.

My uneducated guess would be WWI era?
