I didn't sell this when I moved, although a man that I know is a local dealer came to one of my moving sales. He saw it and offered me $20. I turned him down. I've seen them on eBay asking upwards of $50 without the lids. It's in pristine condition. If a dealer offers $20, he probably figures it's worth at least $100.

I have what I think of as my corn shrine in the kitchen. The pieces are John Cusack's* design for McCoy. The nucleus of my little collection is a lidded jar my grandmother used to keep salt on the the kitchen counter, for when she needed a pinch.

*My mental librarian is telling me that it should be Cusick.

As I said, my grandmother used the lidded jar for salt, so I was a bit surprised when I learned that the line included an item specifically for salt. It hangs, so doesn't need counter space, & the lid is not attached, but has a hinge sort of like a clam shell at the back. It is easy to slip your fingers under the front edge, lift the lid just enough to get that pinch of salt & have the lid drop back into place, a one-handed operation. It would hold a lot of salt. I can't tell whether the butter crock ever had a lid or not. I gather not all did.

I have a shot glass-sized corn creamer, not nearly as glamorous as the larger items.

Always loved Shawnee's and Brush McCoy's corn classics. One of my best pals Mom's had her 1920's breakfast alcove decorated with it-beautiful memories.
DANG-I'd love to find this advertising piece !
This was auctioned in 2018 (Invaluable) est- $100-$150, wondre if it was a fantasy piece ? Can't find much if anything re the brewery.

I found one of these auctioned in 2018 by South Bay Auctions in NY. It brought $150. What I don't understand is why Corn? Info on line indicated that the beer recipe was Malt, Hops, etc., the finest ingredients from Canada. No mention of corn in the recipe. They also advertised the beer as having medicinal qualities, LOL, don't they all. It's a great pitcher. Maybe that's why Corn, the brewery just liked the piece as much as we do.

Thanks so much for posting this article! Now I get it. Cream ales have corn in them. This explains everything and brings it full circle back to this pitcher.

I want to try one of these beers to see how it tastes. Wonder if I can find any here. Will have to look around. Wouldn't mind having this pitcher either!

I wanted to say this earlier. I can't believe that dealer offered you a measly $20 for this cookie jar. But in a way I'm happy that he did because you might have sold it to him for a higher amount and not have had it to share in this post.

It's on top of the corner cupboard in my new house along with a McCoy Touring car and a Lefton "Miss Priss" cookie jars.

I found a catalog page for the New Corn Line of 1910 in Sanford's Guide to Brush McCoy. The pitchers came in at least 6 sizes, no lids in the ad. The only lid like that shown here goes on the tobacco jar.
