Modern replica or old. The 4 must be quarts. Nine inches tall. The filth buildup under the handles looks legit and is tough to remove.

 

It looks 19th century Westerwald style to me.
The yellowish tone could point to a maker in Limburg, the southeastern panhandle of the Netherlands, where Westerwald style stoneware was also made. The river Meuse runs through Limburg, and Meuse clay is known for its distinctive yellow tone.

The blob looks like concrete. Fully glazed.

 

Salt glazed in a traditional style but looks pretty new to me. Would expect the interior to be at least somewhat discolored and, possibly, crazed if this were old and had been used.

 

It's a shame the lid isn't with it.
Also determine if the 4 is for gallons or Liters. Might help confirm origin.

 

It's only 9 inches tall...t'ain't gallons!
