Store was closing and I had to take it or leave it. Decided I would take it home. Thought I had seen something similar before worth a few bucks but can’t find anything now.

Can’t decide wether I think it’s hideous or beautiful lol.

Looks like it’s signed “tc” at the mouth but that could just be part of the design.

Someone took the time to put a gallery or inventory number on it which could be a good sign. Some work definitely went into it although some has been undone by damage.

It’s definitely got a unique look. It’s 12” or so at its widest and 14” tall.

Like it, love it, hate it, despise it? Rock the vote! A million bonus points if you can find “tc”.

Hope it's worth a million bucks!:) I don't know who made it.

This is just my personal gut reaction; mass produced decorator piece from 20 or more years ago. I see the TC however it doesn't look all that different to me than the decoration on the other side of the neck so might or might not be initials.

All said, not my cup of tea but then there are lots of valuable things that aren't;).

    No help I know:rolleyes:

Does it appear to be painted plaster rather than ceramic clay?

Agreed on nearly all. I was hoping it wasn’t mass produced but definitely could be. Figured probably 30-50 years old ish. It’s not my cup of tea either. I’m actually hoping to buy more things that aren’t oddly. That way I won’t have a hard time parting with them. I so often buy things with intent to make a quick buck and then can’t bring myself to sell because I buy what I like. So if I can make some smart buys that aren’t my cup of tea I’ll be doing myself a favor. This one was rather pricey relatively speaking for a thrift store at $8 so I probably should have just left it but there was something that told me to take a chance hoping that it was signed tc and that someone would care that it was.

I would have to go back and look again. I took it out just to take pics and stuck it back. It did look like clay to me or some type of natural material to me but couldn’t say for sure.

Probably so, I was thinking 70s/80s too. I meant to pre-qualify my post noting it almost certainly was not an antique but forgot. Just wanted some eyes on it and wasn’t sure where else to ask opinions.

    Meaning you didn't buy it.
    That's good. Save your money.

I'd call it "Crazy 80s" design. I don't think it's by anyone in particular.

Ha no meaning it’s in my car. I grabbed it just in case. Hopefully I can at least get my money back out of it. It was one of those I would rather regret buying than wonder about. That’s what I get for going to everything right before close. I make impulsive decisions and figure it out later. Usually works out ok but I end up with some stinkers every once in a while. Like today I bought a spoon from Denmark with two towers. Having bought Danish silver before I knew towers were good but it had been a while and I forgot I wanted three towers. Spoon today only had two which I didn’t realize was a mark for plate until too late. I think I still may have done ok because it’s pretty neat but not as good as I was hoping it was. I knew it looked a little off but I figured it was just because it was .800 maybe. Oh well.
