Help dating old games table

Hi there,

I bought an old games table from a French vintage market recently and would like to get an idea of when it is from.

I have done some research myself, however not knowing much about vintage furniture I am not confident to say anything for certain.

I am fairly sure that this is a reproduction Louis XV piece possibly from the early to mid 20th century (?).

Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like you're right. I agree that the style is Louis XV. And this games table, similar but with a different leaf from yours, is advertised as 1940s:

Think AJ's nailed it-almost looks brand new.Is the bottom plywood ?

With what looks like a pecan finish, and those dark spots, I'd be more inclined to think 1960s or 1970s.

 

Yes, it’s a 1960s “ink spot” pecan finish game table. The curves are a reference to the rococo revival of the 1850s. I can’t tell if the bottom is plywood, but I see late growth pine with widely spaced growth rings. It does look French.

 

Ditto, all the above. Bottom does look like a radial cut veneer, typical of that used in making plywood.
