    Hi All,
I am researching some things for my friend. He thought this was an outdoor tree Christmas decoration. Is that what it is? About how old might it be. Can anyone find comparable, please. Made of glass, no markings. IMG_7692.jpeg IMG_7694.jpeg IMG_7695.jpeg IMG_7693.jpeg
    Thank you for looking.

I didn’t see any exactly like that either but it sure functionally resembles a fire grenade - does it have any liquid inside of it? And if it does be super careful not to break it

No liquid I can tell, I'll be careful, thanks. It seems unusual for a fire grenade, can't find similar. Any help would be appreciated. I've requested to join a fire grenade Facebook Forum.

I read some came with a hook meant for storing in plain sight and easily accessible - but I don’t know much about them. I did get a brass carbon tet one at a garage sale and VERY CAREFULLY cracked the refill port outside and happily found it dead empty :)

I don't think there's any question of that being a fire grenade. The wire on the outside would likely be there to prevent breakage, and when throwing the fire grenades I know about they were supposed to break.

I'd wonder if it's some sort of weight.

A really rare antique Fire Grenade would be worth a chunk. They were indeed full of very nasty stuff.

It worked, but I wouldn't want it anywhere in a 50-mile radius.

I THINK the wire on the bottom may be removable, and there is give in the top to come off, but I don't want to mess with it too much.

Can you see under the cap?

Is the glass transparent/opaque or solid?

Is the purple coloring on the inside/outside or mixed into the glass itself?

If you pick it up or shake it, does it feel like there’s anything inside?

Are the scallops uniform or do they look like they were cut by hand?

I wonder if it's a decorative weight for something like a rain chain. Not that I've found one yet but something like that?
