    That's Japanese.

"Navajo Ring by Fritson Toledo – Natural Smoky Bisbee Turquoise
This ring, crafted by veteran Navajo artist Fritson Toledo, features a natural Smoky Bisbee turquoise stone.
"Smoky Bisbee" refers to Bisbee turquoise characterized by smoky, cloud-like matrix patterns; it is highly sought after but has become increasingly difficult to obtain in recent years.
The ring itself is a beautiful piece, showcasing intricate detailing and precise hand-stamping."

    These are nice earrings.
But I'm gonna say that the way the jump rings are attached to the body of the earring is all wrong for Native work.
Also, that multi directional brushed back surface is suspect, too.
    I say it's an import.

I think it's how he finishes his work...I think the attached hooks are replacements.

Yeah, it seems you are right about this! I am a collector of NA jewelry, and have never seen that treatment on the back of a piece. Interesting!

I looked at the backs of several of his pieces while researching- you can even see this finish on the post about one of his rings here. I never saw this, either....I was hesitant about buying the earrings, but I liked them regardless of anything else. I think I got a deal. Some pretty strong turquoise people on other sites keep saying Golden Hills.

It's quite possible that they are Golden Hills.
It's pretty hard to pin down turquoise origin. But some stones are really easy to ID.
Golden Hills turquoise has a distinctly periwinkle/cornflower blue tone. Kind of hard to describe.
Some stones may have a little more aqua in them, and look more like the stones in your earrings.
I can't say for sure because your earrings are looking more blue/green on my monitor. True turquoise color is notoriously hard to show on the computer screen.

If you look at lots of examples online, you will get a good idea of what this type of turquoise looks like, and you can make a better assessment.

Here is my Golden Hills ring. You
you can see the distinct coloring pretty accurately in this photo.
