Now here's a bizarre situation - or a couple serious typos.

An Estate Sale on the Seattle CL listings for this weekend claims to have 38,000,000 items in a 7,240 sq ft house. The house is only 3 bedrooms and 1 bath.

    Hi Bakersgma,
Sounds right. I was living in a 450 sq ft co-op with another human and three cats. We moved into a 3 bedroom house with full walk up attic and basement plus a two car garage with loft storage. It took five hours to pack up the apartment. It was a full size moving truck and the house, attic, garage and basement was filled. The movers kept saying "Where is all of this stuff coming from". They did not know that we kept bringing stuff from the storage area. The 8 piece steel glider set from the garden etc. It was like a clown car.

Forgive me, Greg - but there is no way a 3 bd 1 bath house has 7,240 sq ft of space inside. The average lot in the city is way less than 5000 feet - mine is only 3500 - and the total interior square footage of about 1200 includes the basement (which isn't finished.) No attic. No garage.

They haven't posted the address yet but when they do I can do a property search to see what the tax assessor says.

    Hi Bakersgma,
I read it as 1,240 sg ft. I was just joking about 38 million, mine was probably 10 thousand things.

Bakersgma, just curious but . . .have you gone to either trulia or zillow on-line to check out the address of the house and what either or both say about the house (square footage/worth/number of rooms/when built etc.)? ;)

The jewelry in that sale btw, doesn't impress me. I'm not seeing anything I'd go out of my way for, but you never know. I once scored a carved rose quartz and 14k stickpin in a pin cushion at a sale with "no jewelry".

When I went to CL this morning for the address of that estate sale, I not only got the address, but now see that they've edited a bit - the number 7,240 isn't square feet - it's "rooms" :hilarious:. It should say 7 rooms. A nice enough house and neighborhood, but no where near 7000 sq ft. 3 beds, 2 baths, 1 basement. No garage.

A lot of the pictures are boxes of partially used rolls of wrapping paper. :hilarious: I think they counted every paperclip to get to 38 million items! It's near enough to go take a look, but I have more important things to do today. ;)

Bakersgma, sometimes those "outlandish" ads do make one read them with a "jaundiced eye" (as we love to say around here). ;)

How in the Helsinki does one put 7,240 instead of 7???

    A typogoofic mistake indeed. ;)
