This is a pic of William Clark's son's parlor circa 1890-these are artifacts from the Expedition.
PS-What's that pirate 'Skull & Crossbones' flag doing in the photo ?! It's right below the tips of the 2 crossed swords hanging above the musket/flintlock.

Meriwether Lewis was a Master Mason and a founder of the St. Louis Lodge No. 111. In Masonic tradition, the skull and crossbones is a widely recognized symbol representing Memento Mori (a reminder of mortality and the fragility of human life). This symbol frequently appeared on early Masonic aprons, graves, and ceremonial objects belonging to Masons of that era.

    2. Lewis & Clark College's Mascot History
The institutional history of Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, ties directly to the symbol. The institution was originally founded as Albany College before relocating and changing its name.
    • The Pirate Mascot: While operating as Albany College, the school's sports teams used a Pirate mascot featuring a skull and crossbones emblem

The campaign box in the corner would do me.
I wonder if it contains instruments or vanity bottles.
