    Found this heavy and thick vase- it weighs 3 1/4 pounds and doesn't react to a blacklight.
    It's 9 1/2" tall by 4 1/4" at the top and rim thickness ranges from 1/4" to 1/2".
    Weight is 3 lbs 3 1/4 oz.No markings at all that I can see.I'd guess 20th Century, very few tiny pinprick bubbles /no stretch marks or inclusions.
    Prob a generic piece-but got me curious.Thanks for any info !

    Feels like one of those old glass bricks-beefy.

    I wonder if this was from FTD

    I haven't a clue about its origins, but think it's too nice, & too heavy, for FTD to use. I keep envisioning it filled with celery stalks.

    That's what I thought too-FTD,Libbey, Anchor-Hocking, but the I picked it up and the weight gave me pause ?
    Yep-This thing can hold a big & tall hunk of something ! Interesting optics too.
    @verybrad any thoughts ?

    Is it as yellow in ordinary lighting as it appears in the photos?

    I want it, now, filled with lilac sprays!

    It's a light Coke bottle green that goes citron /chartreuse yellow at certain angles.
    We've just gotten a new Hydrangea in the garden-and it's foliage is going thru the Autumn change now- it's leaves (not blossoms) are turning green and maroon purple. Sumptuous and perfectly decadent Halloween colors !
    Try to remember to post a pic up tomorrow.

    I actually had hydrangeas in mind as an alternative to lilacs.

    Gut reaction is that it is the kind of thing made by the Indiana Glass Co. Just conjecture. I can't verify this but cannot come up with an alternative identification.

    Wow! I've seen hydrangea bushes before, but not like this. Is it a special type?

    I'd never seen them before either, my lady discovered them.They're called Oakleaf hydrangeas (Hydrangea quercifolia)-aren't they awesome ?
