viking2.jpg Hello. I bought these 2 Viking Glass lidded candy dishes at the TS today for $7 ea.
I KNEW they were Viking glass. What I didn't know is that the color seems to be rare. I could only find 1 on eBay that sold for $350. (the tall one 10")
). From what I could figure out, the color is rare and has many different names. (Teaberry. lilac etc..) I see some on Worthpoint but can't see the sales prices.
Just wanting confirmation that what I am seeing is correct.
Hopefully @TallCakes can help. Any comments information is appreciated!
    Thank You!

There are several pieces of Teaberry for sale on eBay right now and one of them is your Six Petal candy. The seller wants $350 for it. With today's crazy prices for all things Viking, he'll probably get that price. This is an amazing piece!

Several years ago, I contacted Preston Ver Meer because there is another somewhat HTF color Viking made that was Pink. The Pink color was called Thistle and the lavender color was called Teaberry. To me that seemed backwards. Thistles are purple and Teaberry (the gum at least) is pink. He gave me a catalog reference from Viking proving that the color names were correct. (I still think it was a typo, LOL!). But those 2 names were always confusing to people so some of them defaulted to saying just pink or lavender. And let's face it, would the average person search Teaberry if they wanted a lavender candy jar?

Your jars are AWESOME and you should do very well. IMHO, best finds of the summer.

    Thank you @ola402 .
Yes I saw the one on eBay for $350. There is also one in the solds that sold for $350. ( I didn't think to look to see if it was the same piece). But I was pleasantly surprised to see what they are selling for. I think the color is driving the price.
Funny thing is.....I noticed them at the thrift 2 days ago, and took a quick look, but didn't have the $$$$ on me to get them, so I came home and researched Viking candy dishes and figured they might sell for $35 to $60. so I made a mental note to look for them next time I got there.
Then Yesterday my car broke down (can't be fixed for under $3k) and the mechanic I use is right across from the TS. So when I went to check on my car today, I popped in and bought them. Did not realize that the color was rare and was quite surprised when I narrowed my search and saw the prices for this color.
I'll post them tomorrow and hopefully that will be a start toward a new car for me.
