The wood looks like walnut. Beyond that I’ve got nothing. I’ve never seen these before.

Can't say I have much constructive. The cut in the back seems to allow them to be fitted onto an outside corner of a box or piece of furniture. The notches in the head are a puzzle. Probably some other carving fit to them to make it seem more seamless. Agree that these are walnut.

Do these entities get access in some way other than the normal registration process? This is the second time I've hit the error page when checking the profile of a 'new member' I suspect of being AI. Then they say, Oh, that was a mistake. I've fixed it now. Should we report posts we think are AI? Or leave them for entertainment value?

Yes report them and don't click any links they may show.
    They join the same way.
Last time it went slow Peter said we were flooded with AI bots and CoinTalk wasn't.
I know the last ones posted on CoinTalk but no one questioned them or clicked the links and it did not go slow like Antiquers, probably because only certain members read certain sections, like US Coin collectors don't go into Ancients, World (foreign) coin collectors don't go into US sections or Ancients, Banknote collectors don't go into Coins.
Even though CoinTalk has more members they don't tend to read all of the forum so no one questioned them or was suspicious of them, whereas ours is more general and we like to spread out :D
