    Brackets, nails, etc.
Whatever you use it just has to allow the glass to rest in place not force it in place.

Make a frame of the bottom and sides. Have the wood grooved - one in the front for the sign and one about an inch back for whatever you are using as a backing. Have the top grooved to match and slide it on after the sign is in place. That way, you have the space you need between the sign and the backing and there's no stress. You can put any kind of molding you want on the front after it's done.

This is a side view of what I meant. Please don't faint at the terrible sketch. IMG_7379 (800x534).jpg

So i had the hardware store cut me a piece of glass, the wrong size

That's okay though, I just used it to practice painting the background.

I can't get it to look like it matches though :meh:

The paint on the glass is very shiny, everything on the back glass looks dull.

The color green my living room is actually matches beautifully with the gold and black

I also bought a chair rail with a groove already cut in place, but no one has the brackets i need.
For spacers I'm just using the pads you sock on the bottom of chairs to keep the from scratching the floor.
    Bad idea?
