I picked up this pair of earrings this morning for a couple bucks so if they are not no big deal.
The upper mark looks like a mask/face. the lower one has writing but can't make it out.
Hoping someone might know these marks.

I think Mexican, that upper mark looks like a poorly struck upside down eagle mark.

I see a face/mask two elongated eyes, nose and mouth. Doesn't look like a eagle at all

The center looks like trying to emulate Spratling

the lower mark with the writing does look closer to come Mexican makers marks. But it is a very worn or poor mark.

The mark used about 1955-1975 for all Mexican sterling.

Without a clear mark it's just some tipos in a cobertizo.

Exactly. Whatever is inside the lower mark. Initials. I'm sure the writing reads sterling Taxco or mexico 925.

Mikey, what are these earrings doing here? You generally get the best and fastest id for silver jewelry in either the jewelry or silver forums.:D
Luckily anund already recognized the Mexican eagle mark. This squared shape is for ca 1955-1980, btw, not until 1975.;) It is used for sterling (.925) and higher, but has also been seen on .900 silver.
Many manufacturer's marks are in a circle with texts like hecho en Mexico - Taxco etc. The devil is in the detail. Unfortunately the marks are badly stamped, or with worn punches.
Before I look up eagle 16, sort of like this, or exactly like this?:)

Ok, have it your way, see if I care.:rage::hilarious::hilarious:

Seriously though, if you manage to recognize some more detail, I'll be watching this thread.:watching: I have a book on Mexican silver marks.

Thanks AJ. But as you can see i'm dealing with two poorly struck marks. I have been using search terms sterling Turquoise inlaid mosaic and find quite a bit but i think it's a wash on figuring who made them.

Yes, it is a rather generic style.
I'll see if I can figure out the symbol in the centre. Don't hold your breath though.:(

    Found it.:(
It is a known fake Hector Aguilar mark.:arghh: Marks of the big names were often faked, and deliberately sloppy, but there is no way anyone could think your earrings are by Hector Aguilar.
So, pretty silver stone chip earrings, maker unknown.:sorry: The chips could be dyed marble chips.:bag:

I will go off and hide now.
