    6 x 6 x 4" and 3.5 lbs.

I've had this lion's head pottery piece for a few years but haven't IDed anything about it.

A homemade piece modeled after a Renaissance architectural lion's head downspout? Any help in identifying would be appreciated. Thanks.

Garden fountain spout. Missing a bowl that went beneath.

But there is no corresponding hole evident on the back that lines up with the one in the mouth?

I was assuming plastered over. Is the lion also plaster? If they are different materials it's possible someone filled it with plaster to anchor the hanging wire. I can't think of why someone would put that tube in the lion's mouth if it didn't serve a function at some point.

All plaster or some kind of hard clay.
