I've had this gold bowl for a while and I'm hoping someone can identify what it is, how old it is, and what it was used for. It was purchased for gold weight but I'd hate to have it scrapped until I find out what it is. FWIW, it's 154.5 grams and the pearl is real. Hopefully someone will recognize the script and can identify the language. It's a long shot but thanks in advance!

I think they used it to create Rosemary's baby?

I would imagine its intrinsic value is far less than the scrap value

I'm trying to understand the relationship between the pearl and the gold.

It's interesting - where and how did you acquire it? Seems odd that it's inscribed right on it "GOLD 154 GRAMS".

    How was it tested?

Today it's around 7,700 but yes, that's why I would like to know what it is. You have to assume something made from so much gold would be significant in some way.

it's actually inscribed "fine gold 154*5 grams". The English inscription isn't done as clearly or deeply as the other symbols. This makes me think it was done at a later date by someone else.

It was tested locally by a precious metals buyer. Also, it's 3" wide, 1" deep, relatively thin, and weighs 5 oz.

I thought this was going to be just joking around, but it actually does look like Elvish or one of Tolkien's invented languages. Appendices to the Silmarillion might give a clue. A fantasy piece perhaps made before gold was quite so pricey. Price is rising right now - keep it safe, keep it secret.

I know some Chinese stuff is hi Karat ...but 24K pure gold? That is unusual!
Plated would test at 24K of course ...(no, I'm not suggesting it's plated or anything:jawdrop:)
