What is the deal with the metal mounted pieces? Were they originally made like that or later mounted.
This bowl has a stem so I am assuming it was made like that? But I guess they can saw the stem of an existing bowl and mount it.
I am thinking the bowl is probably with Asian origin. Possibly plain crackle glazed that was later over decorated?
How about the hardware, European I guess. French?
Suggestions on age are also welcomed.
    Thanks in advance!

I have no idea who made it or its origin but is lovely.

I think it is a newer item.
The metal maker may have been from one country and the pottery from another and then assembled for export.
Although not my taste, I agree with shiloh that it is attractive.

Thanks for the replies. What is it that make you think it is newer piece? I am not sure how to date the porcelain neither the metal.

I believe it is a newer piece also. The piece is hard to search for comparable because the shape is called a lot of different things; tazza, centerpiece, compote, compot, vase, footed bowl. Better decorator shops usually carry your type of item. The high end garden/gift shop in my area sold/sells similar items for the last 20 years or so. How to tell? Brass details are just different, perhaps not as refined, and the ceramics look like newer asian imports. IMHO.

Agree with the others that this is a fairly new import. Similar things can be found at Hobby Lobby, Gordmans, Home Goods, etc.

Porcelain looks like "Huaping Hall", "Huaping Tang", "Huarong Tang" or "JUWC" or some other comtemporary export porcelains.

I signed up to say I hope you still have this piece. This could be by a Chinese porcelain artist Hua Rong Tang Zhi. Look up his name.

If this is genuine it could be worth several hundred, and perhaps a thousand dollar. It depends on how rare the piece is and how old. His early work goes from 1900 to the 1940's. Then there are more works after that.

Normally you can see his red porcelain mark, but the metal bottom on this probably covers it up. Unless there is one inside. It is a square with four Chines symbols in the square. A lot of the pieces have a small number on the under side. It may also say, "Not for food purposes. For decorative use only."

But again it could be under the bottom. I would NOT take the bottom off. It might ruin the piece. I would take it to a good antiques dealer. Look at his work on ebay and other places on the Internet to see his style.

Here is a similar design on Pinterest. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/387028161719183294/.

The flowers are beautiful. The raised paint and craclature is nice. I am an artist and I think it is incredibly lovely. Some of his pieces are not perfectly painted. Some are. But that doesn't matter. The designs are gorgeous.

I have one of his pieces and it's not as beautiful. Mine is a plate with four metal feet. But I love the colors and intricate work. It has browns and deep rose colors with paisleys and Chinese flowers.

If this is not genuine, it is certainly a beautiful imitation.

You can also find some horrible modern pieces. I don't know what that is about. If the company sold out or if they are imitations. At any rate, most of this pieces are quite nice.
