Who's Signature Is This? FDB?

    Hello Everyone,

    This oil painting and signature has had me puzzled for about 2 years. It is similar to a "Franklin Dullin Briscoe" I have but the signatures do not match at all. I am able to make out what I believe are the letters FDB. Any ideas?

    Nice painting. I can't quite read the date, could you let us know what that is. I agree the signature does not match Briscoe.

    I cannot put "Briscoe" together with the signature, so I don't think it's that. The date is 19*4 but I cannot read the third number. Perhaps the signature and date would be easier to read if you took some close shots from different angles with natural lighting?
