    image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpg image.jpg Found a bottle of whiskey in this box. I'm trying to find the value of this. Please note that the Renfield Importers is in NY, not NJ like a lot of the bottles I've seen. Curious as to why that is. Also, it looks like most bottles have a stamp with two different numbers on each side on the bottle stamp, however, this one only has one number. Thanks again for the help!

    With either we can look quickly and not have to open each one. You will find this out best when you look at other's posts and wish they would enlarge. :)

    Holiday packaging -- Someone never opened their gift! N.Y. vs. N.J. explained by company's executive offices being in New York City (919 Third Avenue to be exact) and warehouse and administration facility being in New Jersey.

    I just realised it has the date 1.4.89 on the duty label.
    so not old or valuable.
    Keep it like Komokwa said.

    I'm surprised it says "12 Years Old" while the Haig website says it has "an age statement of 15 years." "Haig Pinch was a Haig Whisky product for the American market and was bottled at the slightly higher strength of 43% ABV." European and other markets other than the American market the bottles were Haig Dimple.

    The following website agrees with the advice you have gotten here, keep it and drink it at special occasions. It says

    "When you remember that up to about 40 years ago, Haig Whisky was one of the most popular Scotch whiskies in the world it goes some way to explaining why so many bottles of Haig were given as special presents or gifts for significant birthdays or family events. It was probably their sentimental value that prevented them from being opened and consumed. You must also remember that we now live in a consumer age where no one thinks twice about ordering a bottle or two of Scotch Whisky online or buying Scotch in your local store. But 40 to 100 years ago, a bottle of Scotch was a once a year purchase and quite unusual and special for the average family. This, I believe is why so many old bottles have still survived unopened."

    "As you may have noticed from my own blog articles, I’m a firm believer that whisky is there to be drunk rather than stored. My advice always is that if you find yourself in possession of a very special bottle of whisky drink it over a year or so on special occasions and then keep the empty bottle as a nice reminder of the original gift and story and also the special occasions when you drank really special whisky."

    Just noticed Davey beat me on the haigwhisky.com link with the info on age and reason many of these bottles are found today unopened. Sorry.

    Well.....I'm just saying.....look harder...it still has the plastic collar over the date label and I see no evidence of it being disturbed...

    Obviously...I don't see what you're seeing...:smuggrin::(:(
