or not...I grabbed it from a charity shop this week, was only 50p so don't have much in it xx

I thought that maybe someone had remade this using older beads mixed with those weird reconstituted turquoise modern beads? ( not sure if that's what they are, just the impression I get xx) but now I am more inclined to think they are all newish. The smaller ones with flowers on have HUGE and also not so huge holes so don't think they are all that, not much care has been taken with them. I have some new ones like this but I wondered if the longer ones were perhaps older? But not sure now at all, probably all are new
    It's approx 26 inches.
(The clasp looks and feels like silver, despite my pic there is no plate loss) xx

I got this in a metal detecting lot...it's teeny. I can get it ON but not off :O

It has a **hallmark**, I can't see it very well and I do think it actually could be a hallmark not just a maker's mark but hard to see. Do you think it could be?
It was black when I got it originally.
More pics in next post xxx

    Hi Bou.
The beads are Chinese, not very old, but pretty. The metal is probably not silver. Some of the round beads are turquoise chip in resin beads, which are the most traditional of the lot.;)
The long beads are glass imitations of Dzi beads. Dzi beads are originally stone, and mostly used in Tibet and neighbouring countries. All the beads are the same period, pretty recent.

I love the second piece, is it a brooch? It is after the painting 'The Persistence of Memory' by Dalí. The stones are pressed amber, so I guess the metal is silver.

    The ring is Modernist/Brutalist.

The Persistence of Memory, 1931. Dalí said it was a Surrealist perception of Camembert melting in the sun.:hilarious: Of course he was known to tell tales about his paintings, which could be considered a form of Surrealism too.:playful:

I love that Dali brooch, I'd have grabbed that.

Ring is meant to be a buckle, I'd say.

    Thanks my lovely AJ xxx
The brooch...well I am a HUGE Dali fan but the melty clocks evaded my eyes til I got home! Tis silver, yes you're right <3
it has full hallmarks on the stem and **925** one the back. Managed to see the 925 in my grabbing phase and just imagine my utter pleasure when I saw the melty clocks. Thank god that and not decaying donkeys xx
I am trained to see **925** in every place it could be ( and even seen some where they could never be )
There is even texture on the tree bark. I feel blessed. Will never wear it in case I lose it, will prop it up by my arm on my table where special things are xx

    Thank you everyone xxx

Just had a look at Dzi beads...I must have seen them before somewhere as I had a vague recollection that they could be **old** but I knew nothing about them. Well I don't really know now either BUT I know what they are called, ( just hope I never have to speak their name lol ) and what they should be made of so thank you again AJ xxxx

Good scores! Love the Dali pin and the beads are very pretty. The ring looks made in student jewelry class, just my opinion.
