    Found this being thrown away today on the way to my Mom's. Of course I couldn't leave it on the curb. Don't know what I'll do with it as it is completely frozen from rust. Maybe use it as a garden ornament!! Hope you enjoy the pictures and can imagine how it was used many years ago!!

    Looks like it was for furrows. Not necessarily for more than one but for making more than one pass all at once.

    Is that a Depression-era jury-rig, or even older homebrew? It looks like the sort of thing farmers used to build to get 'er done, before there were any Mexicans available locally to get the job done for them.

    Two very different things indeed.


    Jury rig, to improvise out of available materials, usually nautical referring to repairs to rigging.

    Jerry built, shoddily made with cheap materials, usually applied to speculative building.

    Jerry rig - Mast put up by Germans?
