    Hello,

I was told that these ladies in this Tintype were very well known.
But the only name I could find was a "Mary Ingalls" born in 1864-1865
and was the sister of the writer of "Little House on the Prairie". But I don't know if the age matches up correctly. She would only be 12-13 years old.

    Any help would be appreciated!

This is the rough translation of the back:

I agree that neither woman looks that young. No indication of where this was taken?

Do they look similar? lol I'm always terrible at telling. My lovely lady always tells me I'm wrong when I say someone looks like someone else.

Unfortunately, that one was held on Feb 18th, not the 22nd.

I looked multiple times before posting what I did. It definitely says Feb 18th.

One thing that happens when your Google search includes something specific (yours included the date Feb 22 1786) and you get a link to an e-book - the text that "matches" is highlighted in yellow but is overwritten with what you asked for, even when the "match" is not exact. I bet if you go back there and clear the search while you're on the page, you'll see what I saw.

OMG! I am so sorry! Here I was giving you "directions" about clearing the search and I had not done it myself! :sorry::oops:

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I've done some looking, too, and found nothing helpful so far. By the way, I think the third name written on the back is Mary Shedd, not Shadd. Not that that is helpful, though...

I've been using Shedd too, Fig. Not that I've found her in the same place as the other 2 names.....

I figure that the young man Sam is no more than 20 (more likely mid-teens) and that Mary Ingalls is 20 - 25. Mary Shedd is harder to figure, maybe 40's?
