    Hi all,
    First time posting..Be gentle!

I picked up this thimble at a local sale and the markings have me intrigued.

There is an obvious "925" stamp, a letter "S", presumably a date, and a mysterious anchor-like mark that looks like no other Birmingham one I've seen.

    Any ideas?

    Welcome, Shaun!

That is not an anchor and this mark is not British. I am more inclined to Norwegian, 20th century. There is another mark on the left of the 925S (symbol) but it is only partially in view. Are you able to get a picture of that, please?

Hi Shaun. Welcome to you and your thimble. You got @Bakersgma on your case - you couldn't ask for better than that.

:shy: Well, depends on the country. Cheryl. has much more knowledge and much better resources if this is actually Norwegian.

    Hi,
It is hard to see if your thimble has a rim on the bottom? If it does not it is pre 1890. If it has a rim it is post 1890.

Are there nibbles on the top enamel, or is that a scallop pattern? Sweet thing!
