    hey guys

    a couple of finds today

i thought the padlock bracelet was solid brass, but unsure now. funny old colour it is. looked to have a wee bit of age so bought anyway (did a little scratch to see what was underneath)

    no markings at all though

would never have bought the dior brooch if i hadnt learnt on this forum that they did costume jewelry, does it look right or are there even fakes of these, has a ding or two

i only paid £2 for these and some other bits, so no worries if its junkage

any comments as always very much appreciated

Charlie, the heart bracelet looks like a take on one of Tiffany's heart padlock bracelets. They did a few different styles of them in sterling and gold. I don't think this one indicates any attempt to deceive, but is just copying the style...

The Victorians and Edwardians were keen on these heart shaped padlocks on their link bracelets

Yes, I think the brass bracelet has some age, and it is traditional British. The Dior brooch is sweet.
But the cross is the winner! (Not a crucifix, no body on it.:nailbiting:) 19th century Gothic Revival, imo. No damage, a little stunner. I wonder if the wood is from the tree of Joseph of Arimathea, in Glastonbury.

You're probably going to end up like the rest of us, with a bit more than a gap. Not much more though.:hilarious:

Dior is certainly late 80s to early 90s, made under license by a company whose name escapes me. Oh hang one. Grosse.

It did remind me of Grossé gilding, it looks the same as on the jewellery they manufactured under their own name from the 70s onwards.
The earlier Grossé gilding is generally a slightly more reddish yellow (not rose gold) and doesn't look as thick and 'luscious'. For lack of a better word.:bag:
