P1011515.jpg P1011522.jpg P1011529.jpg P1011526.jpg P1011524.jpg I am interested in any input on this lovely carved cane handle. I am suspecting Russian or German by the looks of the carving . Curious of age , possible origin and worth. There are initials on the silver. P1011515.jpg P1011522.jpg P1011529.jpg P1011526.jpg P1011524.jpg this was crudely attached to a square yard stick. The part that screws in to the shaft has been recently sawed part way through . I think they could not get it off the old shaft before discovering they screw in.

I think that because you can see the prices for antler cane handles that do not have the artistic beauty and detail of your item, you could probably guess it would be somewhat valuable. The age would be difficult to determine based on the fact that it may be hand carved and one-of-a-kind.

Here are some more examples from different countries and time periods.
    Beautiful piece, regardless.

Check the metal for maker marks. It has maybe owners name or monogram, but I can’t make it out, maybe Eng?

Only the Initials of the original owner. I do believe it is one of a kind. The detail is fabulous right down to the A
Thanks for the reference to Kollers. I had not seen those. wish I had the original staff.
dam's apple. I think the collar may also be clue to country of origin

The chasing on the collar is poor, probably done by a low experience apprentice.

the one Koller shows - probably from Austria - is a disgusting anti-semitic item very typical of Austria and Germany from around 1860s to 1900.

the OPs could indeed be German or even English due to the hunting fashion brought over by Albert.
