    thanks Marie
Please check the attached pic of the Vase. But unfortunately I did not take a pic of the mark. But there is nothing special about the way it was marked. Just in plain letters "Magnien" at the bottom of the Vase .

Your picture is too busy for a google image search. You need a plain background. And you need to show the bottom. Please. For all we know, it could be the owner's name in Sharpie.

    Jesus Christ...that's a nightmare vase !!
The front looks like a face out of a sci-fi horror flick !!!!

I think it looks like a very good piece of porcelain. Perhaps Magnien was a retailer?

Thanks Janet,,,I don't own the vase,,,I just saw it in a shop in the middle of a weekly flea market and took pics,,,I had to resize it for uploading as well. But I am sure the Maginein mark was jot written in sharpie. It was engraved part of the vase but in plain manner unlike other marks...will try to take a good pic if I get the chance again,,

Was that the only mark or were there other markings?
Was the mark on the brass or the pottery?

Magnien appears to be a place in France. Some items are marked with place of origin for export/import purposes.

For future reference when out and taking pictures of items you want help with; we need a straight on shot of the item, and a picture of the bottom with a closeup of any marks. If possible with as little background distraction as can be done.

Cluttered close,,,thanks,,the mark was on the bottom of the pottery and it was engraved in plain penmanship manner,,,it was the only mark we could see along with the shop owner,,

    Thanks Aquitaine...
It looks clear now...as can be seen it could be an early art nouveau,,,,,
Could this mysterious vase be the very first vase by Rene lalique which got lost?kkkk:)
Nobody saw it and the only thing left is a rough drawing by lalique himself shown in the following link ,,
