Does anyone know what this is? There are no markings whatsoever.
    Thank you!

Kasperscuriosities Two hundred years too late.

Could it be a blow torch of some sort? Just a guess. Maybe a pesticide sprayer? Sorry I don't really know.

What's the crap coming out of the front piece? can you unscrew that piece?

It looks like a christmas light.. it has a tiny hole in the end. The wooden piece unscrews but doesn't seem to have a purpose. Here are a few more photos.

It looks like the wood Knob was added to carry it around as that is a wood screw into the knob but soldered into the brass base - Not original to the piece. But carry WHAT around is a total mystery. Looks like somebody made it to serve a certain purpose that they wanted to achieve. Does the other part with the handle with a nut on top come off? If it were me my curiosity would get the best of me and I'd tear it apart just to see what the heck it was before, And with all them extras off of it might be able to tell what it was, kinda does look like an antique item that produces a flame, maybe not a blow torch like Kasper stated but maybe some kind of plumbers torch for soldering.
    That's all I got - good luck!!

I used to see balls of this type used on roadwork ....as torch flares to warn oncoming traffic..

But yours might be a torch....missing parts.....

The part with the handle and nut does come off but you can't see anything inside, it's just empty. It is some sort of sprayer nozzle.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

My ol'man says it's a flare used by rail or road workers... was filled with kerosene. He says some knucklehead stuck a Christmas bulb where the wick belongs.

Not a flare or road torch Imo, too nice looking and would be stolen very quickly if left outside. It could be a type of portable alcohol lamp missing wick. If so, I still don't know the exact purpose of this style of torch or lamp.

Smudge pots are also used to ward off frost from trees in blossom.
