Antique? Brevettata Espresso machine burner?

I think it is for an antique espresso machine. marked on the bottom brevettata with an eagle above. the burner knob reads Fratelli-Santini-Ferrara.
I am looking to date this piece. any ideas?

I thought it was part of an old oil lamp? With the wick?

That's what i thought at first but the name lead me to espresso or coffee.

 

Santini was the producer, model line was Aquilas, therefore the eagle mark (aquila = eagle). the old ones had an alcohol burner.

no. those old models were made till at least the 30s. don't know though when they stopped with the alcohol.
