@kardinalisimo, can you try to take a whole picture, or at least a whole one along the lower portion, IN DAYLIGHT, without flash and hopefully without reflection?

 

I don’t know if this will work. The painting is dark so even in daylight it appears so.

 

So @kardinalisimo, I'm not sure if this is actual writing or not, along the bottom, as the image I had to work with was pretty small....and enlarging doesn't always help in bringing something out.....Personally, I think there's something there, but that's me....along most of the bottom, but above and to the left there are some numbers.....others hopefully will chime in.....I'll keep playing with a couple of the bottoms of other shots!

Does anyone smoke or did anyone around it? Has it ever been cleaned?? If not, it might benefit from a professional cleaning! To me, it's well worth having done as it IS a BEAUTIFUL painting!!!

 

I did a quick non-professional cleaning. But definitely need more.
