Little wood carved figure

    Hi there

    Does anyone know what this might be, it's about thumb size and made of light wood/cork. What year might it be and what would it be used for with the hole underneath?

    Light wood, I'd think. Certainly doesn't look like cork.

    Not a clue but as he's wearing a keffiyeh, I'd look toward the Middle East. Perhaps meant to be Lawrence of Arabia.
