Age of Satsuma Jar

    Does anyone know how old this jar is?

    Haven't been through Gotheborg to look for that particular mark - but it aesthetically and otherwise strikes me as very new. I could be wrong :)

    Agree, doesn't seem like an old one even though mark has Satsuma crest etc more often associated with earlier productions. Crackle is also very odd and large, old Satsuma usually has minute crackle. Bit of a conundrum, this one!

    The top circle mark is the Shimazu family Crest. That's all I have.
