    Hi All,

First of all i hope you (and loved ones) are all in good health! I one a painting that is signed 'Bochette'. I've tried on different occasions, but can't find any info on him. I don't seem to be the only one, I have seen his work at auctions, also then, it just states
'B fullsizeoutput_2a6b.jpg 'Bochette' (The title is usually a description of the painting.) Work I have seen by him are landscape scenes of places in Europe and some 'oriental street scenes', like mine. (My guess is that this 'impasto' painting is prob a imagined representation of Constantinopel'.) Does anyone know this artist, and have info on him?

    Take care,

    Robert.

Robert, please be kind enough to post photographs of the entire piece both front and back including the frame. Please also post a close-up photograph of the signature along with close-up photographs of any stickers, labels and/or handwritten notations on the painting's back. It does not appear to be a scene of pre-1930 Istanbul based on the architecture and the costumes. (The traditional Turkish headgear is the fez.)

I'm seeing Boschette, but then I'm always seeing things that aren't there.

I'd rather go for Boschetti - an Italian family name.

Robert did forget the "s" in his description.

I fiddled with the sig (which probably doesn't really help) and I'm wondering if it's Boschelle. The crosses of the "t's" seem to be a different color than the rest of the sig.

I also think it’s Boschelle. The ll line is the base/shadow of the figure and not the t crossbar.
The figures look very similar to Roberts painting. Think the painter was having a heavy impasto day.

Thank you all. Sorry, you are right: I misspelled the name. I first thought it might be BoschettI. I looked at the link above. It could be him. I'll ask a friend who is a painter if he thinks its by the same 'hand'. I'm really not sure. I haven't tried 'Boschelle' though. I was convinced it was a T. Love the color enhancement- looks good. Haha. Anyway, all the info has helped me on my way, and gives me more to look at- so thank you again. Take care.

mmm, I found several paintings online. All recognizable by his signature. But no one mentioned more then his name: 'Boschelle'. Some what of an enigma, it seems. Haha.

Thank you for you reply. Next time I will post photo's as suggested. (In all honesty I wanted to, but had some technical difficulties, and left it after a while. I completely agree; you need more info, and the back of a painting gives a lot of info.) Also, I agree it's def mid century this painting. I asked a Turkish friend what he thought of the clothing, he thought in could be 'an imaginaire depiction of the past'. That's what I meant to say. All the best, R.

O! Whow! I completely overlooked that post. It's because my painting is so much the same as that picture, I thought it was my picture! (No I see he painted to similar scene's from a slightly different angle. Mmm, next time I will pay better attention!;)
