Can anyone tell me about this rug

    Hello, In the past I've been able to access the Rug Rag Forum for questions of this sort but haven't been able to access it. This rug was acquired by a family member, not certain if it's machine or handmade, they were told it once had fringe and that someone in the 1930s had owned it but that's about it. it's about 4' X 6'. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

    If it were handknotted, the underside would look exactly the same as the face. Which it doesn't appear to.

    A rather typical Sarouk style rug of the 1930s. Compare styling here:
    Images on G
    Sarouk was probably the most copied rug in machine-mades.
