So, not sure if we're looking at Demitasse (sp?) size cups or not, but maybe 3" in height??? Looks marble or marbelized..........'s all I've got.....
Looks like something from a children's book, but I am not going to think about which one until we have a better photo, sorry Louise. Many Easter decorations were made in Germany.
It may be a German lithographed paper egg candy container, very darkened with age. They are usually quite bright. I assume it opens
I've seen similar made of tin. My friend dealt in vintage slot and fairground machines. He bought some German machines from the early 30's. One was a chicken that laid an egg after you put a Pfennig in the slot. Some of the eggs contained boiled sweets and others silver rings or cufflinks.
Yeah but the ones I got were from early 30's. Pre war Pfennigs were in the cash box and the sweets were perished black balls of goo and no one gave silver out for pennies after the war.
