I guess all I am saying is that a 4" x 2" watercolor from a man that was born in 1866 and painted all kinds of things, in all kinds of styles, doesn't seem that unreasonable. The one thing is that he puts a G in front of his last name...but maybe that came along after some time?

I mean, he painted this one in his early days?

Aside from the skill discrepancies, the signatures of G Raab are very consistent. The R and b are pretty distinctive. Other than the spelling, I don't see a similarity.

I agree with you. None of the letters are similar. This is not a skilled artist. Those birds would have to be ginormous to appear like that in the sky.

I am doing a little house keeping today and I figured this one out. The painting is by Bert (Bertha) Raab of Las Cruces, NM. I guess she sold her paintings there and had many miniatures. This one is titled "Hill House." I thought I would post an update incase anyone was interested. *Also probably not a beach scene :)

It's been raining, so I had some free time this weekend! We really needed the rain badly! :)
