Found this vase this morning and my first thought was Scandinavian. After cleaning it up found some numbers on the bottom, that remind me of some of the Scandinavian makers. There appears to be letters above the numbers, but due to the wear I cannot read them. Was wondering if anyone might recognize the design, style or number code and be able to help me identify. The vase is a ringed design, measures 11 7/8" tall and is 5 3/8" wide. Polished base. Heavy vase weighing 8 pounds.

The markings look more like an inventory number put on by an owner, etc., than it does a manufacturer's mark.

Agreed, but in this particular instance, I get the impression that it was done by someone not very experienced in the practice. There seems to be an uncertainty or hesitancy about it - sort of {concentrating on engraving the 3} stop and consult the paper with the number on it {concentrating on engraving the 5} stop and consult the paper with the number on it and so on..............

It's not an Orrefors number. Many companies made that optic rib style.

The WF ones are far less chunky, as are the Webb ones. I've got both.
