Hi everyone, Just happened to stumble upon a Statenjacht nr.461 billing boat in my attic. Its in tip top condition with its original box and packaging. i dont think anything is missing. The images i have attached are only there for illustration purposes. My box is just like the one in the pictures. I understand from my research that its pretty old and i was also wondering if I was to sell it, what would it be worth? All replies are welcome! Thank You.
Welcome! Please go back and edit your photos to the full image option. - Have you checked eBay and ETSY?
Hi KingofThings, thanks for your reply. Ive now edited my post. Also, i cant find anything related to the Statenjacht on Ebay or ETSY. thanks
There`s one on Ebay in Poland Its not selling though. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Artitec-5...898719?hash=item3ad489b8df:g:LR4AAOSwBahVLAF1 Thousands on Google Images. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=S...ved=0ahUKEwjThdmP05LRAhVEqxoKHalZCeMQ_AUIBigB I can`t see big demand for them.
Yeah ive seen some on Google images. 99% of the pictures showing this model are linked to one website. It relates to a person selling it on ebay (a different seller) but there's no price specified -I already checked it out beforehand. http://www.globalgaragesale.net/itemlisting.aspx?item=156099 The link you sent for the Google Images show pictures of the actual boat which was called a Statenjacht -this is a kit for building a model of the boat. Regardless, I understand where you're coming from.
http://www.maritima-et-mechanika.org/maritime/models/statenjacht/statenjacht.html Link above has interesting information on the staten jacht. If mine, I would peg price against Billing Boats listings. There's a fairly high rate of completed vs. sold on eBay and model no longer offered by manufacturer. Debora
Thank you Debora for the link -I've read through it and it was pretty interesting. So would it be wise to complete the model and sell it? Also, what version would be worth more? Completed or left in the box? Thanks
i was looking at a model which looked alot more modern than the one i have and i think it was made in 1967.... http://www.shipmodels.info/mws_forum/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=82362
To be honest, all i really needed was an amount as to how much it was worth, its origins, and the date of when it was manufactured...that's if i did decide to sell it. Although i might take a challenge and follow Debora's advice and build it -Then sell it if I needed.
Whoa! I didn't say build it. I would think it would be more valuable in box, unbuilt. What I did say is look at "Sold" eBay listings to see what similar (boxed) Billing Boats sold for and whether they sold as BINs or auctions, and if, as auctions, they had multiple bids. That will help you established value. (Scarcity alone won't do it.) Debora
Ohhh!!! okay I now understand what Debora was pretty much hinting at haha. In fact, I'll have a look on eBay right now.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BILLING-B...983620?hash=item2cb3325e44:g:DS0AAOSwTA9X8H2j Found an exact replica of what I have -although this box has some wear and tear on it although everything is included. it was sold for £118.20.
