IMG_3384 (800x600).jpg IMG_3385 (800x600).jpg Not sure if metalware is the right place for this, but it didn't really fit into jewelry or militaria.

2 1/4"x 1 1/4" All metal. The border is textured like some type of leather, but it's green painted metal.

Any guess as to age? When would they have had guards in libraries? Big cities.

    I like it!
    I'd say 30s to 50s...perhaps even 60s.

The title is on a piece of cardboard inside so I'm thinking the frame could have been for anything.

    Absolutely.
May have even been a shipyard badge or similar.

I think it was school related - as in Hall Monitor, House Master, etc. Just a pat on the head to make the nerd feel important?

I don't think that's paint - greenie corrosion on brass?

Hey Bev - while I have your attention - would you message/conversation me so I can ask an OT question about historical records in your neck of the woods? I can't seem to initiate a conversation with you - some setting issue or other? But I was hoping if you started one I could reply. I'm trying to help a friend with her family tree.

The two options are "Members Only" or "People you follow" so I checked Members only. The other one sounds more restrictive. I sent you a message so you should be able to respond.
