Hi there - I am hoping to find some information on this piece. I was told once it is a "moon cookie" mold, but I am not convinced as I have not seen any similar. I would like to know the meaning of the symbols, the purpose of the mold and a potential age of the piece and a estimate value if any. It appears to be hand carved, as the top part only fits one way. Also the close up images show carved marks. cookie2.jpg Cookie 1.jpg cookie3.jpg cookie4.jpg

LOL - I did answer on the other thread but maybe I did it wrong? I am not sure about the avatar, it is an image I found online years ago and have used it a lot ever since. I love old spacey stuff.

Hey Amy, in the interest of getting your inquiry back on track, I THINK your piece is related to Chinese cooking/baking..................a cookie mold or something.....................

I agree, I was just hoping to find someone who might know what kind of cookie, when they were popular, what the carvings might mean. I have had this thing for at least 15 years, still trying to figure it out! lol
