I bought this piece and I am not sure if it is a necklace of something else because there is no closure. The entire piece tested sterling silver with no markings. The stones look like they are glued in. not sure if they are gemstones. Anyways, I would like to know maybe who, when and or where it’s from if it is possible. Also if it is not a necklace maybe what it was used for. I know it is a lot to ask, but if you can help me in any way, I would sincerely appreciate it. Thank you and have a great Weekend and stay safe this holiday

Can we see the whole thing, how it hangs?

It's quite pretty. But hang on. Someone with expertise in tribal jewelry is sure to come along and give you more information.

It looks Yemenite to me, but Yemenite silver designs are spread all over the Middle East It may be worn just as shown and could be a lariat. I'd wait for someone who actually knows what they're talking about if I were you.

    Beautiful set, I love it.
I used to have one very similar, and it came from Afghanistan. I was told it was worn over the headshawl, the middle of the chain on top of the head, the ends hanging down. I hope that was right. I am sure it would have had to be fastened to the shawl with pins.
Of course you can wear it any way you like, it is yours now.
Yours is nicer than mine was, I would never have sold mine if it had been like yours.:) Very nicely detailed.
The stones are agate-like stones, glued in, like you see in Middle Eastern souvenir jewellery (often made in India ).
That one is 100% Pashtun, Afghanistan and western Pakistan.
Nomadic Pashtun are called Kuchi, a better known name.

Any Jewelry! I was wondering if you could tell me how old this piece might be? Is it more like the 60's - 90's or earlier? Thank you

It looks late 20th century to me. It is a beauty, very nicely made.

Sometimes called a lariat style, casually knotted or wound. May be worn asymmetrically.

    Nice!

Only if worn the non-traditional way.;) It wasn't intended as a lariat necklace.:)

    I agree, @Any Jewelry

"Sometimes" keywords help sell things :)
