Are the black beads rather light in weight?

 

Yes Cuz,they are light. I have some jet beads here already ID'ed by the eBay boards ( I think it was) and they are like those.

I DO also have something which looks similar too but isn't black inside,that's probably wood maybe? xx

 

You know the answer: we'd have to see them.

I had thought they may be ( I've been looking for it since I first saw it on the eBay boards aeons ago! I DO NOT remember getting these though, just found 'em! in one of my many stashes)

They are in poor shape...foil is coming off them but am still very happy to have them!

They actually would be perfect for that...I have put em away now, should have measured 'em first, I hate measuring things ( dyspraxia) but I DO try to remember to do it! Don't always though )

 

From what I read they were never set in precious metals, so somebody I guess thought that the stones were worth keeping -

And they were right

They are rare enough now to be precious'd up in a nice silver ring, or 10 !

Saphiret! The foil doesn't matter, it's the glass that's key.

 

Agree. And saphiret was set in silver too, so go wild!

Lovely! The brown mark could mean jet, vulcanite, or ebonite. Your beads look like jet to me.

 

Awesome on the saphirets! Definite resale value on those!
