Nail opinions ?

I have a piece I'm working on, and I found two types of nails used. At first I thought it was a repair that used a more modern nail. However, the head on the wire nail is chisel shaped.

...So I begin to wonder if the two types of nails were both used during construction. I have read that small wire nails were first used at the beginning of the 19th century and cut nails are still used today. My question is: does anyone recognize the weird modern (wire) nail with a chiseled/ pointy mushroom head? Given it's weird shape, I thought it might be one of those very early wire nails.

If you look in the picture, the nails are flattened, not truly round. That is why I think it may be an early version. That said, you can see the machining grip marks in one of the pictures... so "modern" nail.

it is about a 2d nail, and it is called an "oval lost head nail!" Still in production today.

 

So, it was made sometime in the last 100 years.
