komokwa The Truth is out there...!

    3 inches tall
7/16ths...tapering to 5/16ths.....at the carved end.
solid ivory....with black inlay design....& red at the end.
    Open on both ends...

I always thought it was a cigarette holder....but modern ones are too large to cram in the opening, & I don't have any 1920's ...on hand.
    ( no staining from use...)

Or, is it something else ?

I've had it for so many years , I can't remember where or how I got it......:oops:

Is it open right straight through? If you hadn't said it was open at both ends I would have guessed an etui missing its cap(s).

The top...looks to be threaded inside....the bottom....clean.....but yes , drilled straight thru !!

Perhaps a seal handle, missing the brass seal at the end?

Komo, does the other inside end look like this, as Bronwen suggested??? If so, you'd be missing an end cover......

How the heck do they get a photo of that miniscule image on the end of that screw in piece???? I have an end piece with a mini image, & would LOVE to get an image of it (of can't find it ATM!!!!)!!

    EDIT:
THAT TINY hole you look through and this maybe 1/8" in size is what you see!!! Amazing!!

I'd think a cigarette holder missing its mouthpiece...
