    Good evening everyone,

Just a couple knick knacks to share tonight.

    1. I'm beginning to realize I like little cups as a collectible. I was smitten by this little sterling baby cup and finished the polish tonight.

    2. I hope I'm using the right terminology, but it looks like today I got a 1939 silver sauce server with a Jens Sigsgaard assayers mark. I was quite happy to see how good of condition it's in after the polish considering it's age.

The sauce server came with weighted stuff I scrapped for more than the price I paid, so the sauce server is basically free to me!

MrNate, I have a thing for sterling baby cups, too! I have my own from when I was born, my Mom's, HER Mom's, my own 2 kids', and about 2 dozen assorted others that I collected over the years!

I also have half a dozen Irish crystal "christening cups" - from the Irish side of the family!

You know that now you've talked about them, you have to show them. That's the rule. :)

Nice Wood & Hughes baby cup, quality maker. The sauce server was made by Copenhagen manufacturer Dansk Forsølvnings Anstalt/Dansk Forsilvningsanstalt, primarily silverplaters - the assay-master was Johannes Siggaard (the 'Jens Sigsgaard' error goes back decades, originating in a Danish silver reference)...

Oh, Bronwen, I wish! When we moved to NH a few years ago, just about all the silver and crystal and china that wasn't already "packed up" (from our first big move - from DC to CT) got packed up. To this day, NONE of it has been unpacked. I may be long gone before it is...

I went looking for old photos to see what I might be able to show. I didn't come up with much, but here are a couple of things:

2 of my son's baby cups:

    one of those "sauce servers"

another "sauce server" (or brandy warmer)

a Waterford crystal baby cup used in a Christmas display:

Slim pickings in the photo department... I know I have a better "inventory" somewhere!

I just want to say Mr. Nate, that you polish up the silver so nice its shines and sparkles .
No amount of polish makes my silver shine so bright.
